Principal Talk with Mrs Lowe

Athletics Carnival Thanks

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Payne for coordinating our school athletics carnival, which was held on Tuesday at the Australian Institute of Sport.

My appreciation also goes to our dedicated staff, who assisted with the day’s activities.

I would like to acknowledge and thank our fantastic parent helpers: Laura, Tim, Ana, Katherina, Mitchell, Damian, Mel, Veronica, Patricia, Quyen, Carmen, Deanna and Elli. Their support enabled the carnival's smooth running and success.

Finally, a big shout-out goes to our amazing students for their enthusiastic participation and for giving their best efforts throughout the day.

The Belconnen Regional Carnival will be held at the AIS on Tuesday, 20 August.

The Athletics Carnival Award Presentation will be held at 8.50am on Friday, 9 August, at the Morning Assembly.

Australian Federal Police Training Visit

Last week, our Year 2M class had a unique and engaging opportunity to assist with the training of Australian Federal Police Officers. The trainees were focused on developing their skills in speaking with and interviewing children, and our students played a crucial role in this learning process.

The experience was both enjoyable and educational for Year 2M. The students had the chance to interact with the police officers, which helped to demystify their image and show our students that police are everyday people dedicated to helping and protecting our community.

Thank you to the Australian Federal Police for involving us in this experience, and we look forward to more opportunities that connect and build our community.

Good Luck, Elsie!

I would like to extend our best wishes to Elsie from Year 6B as she heads off to represent the ACT at the Australian Football Championships in Geelong next week!

Following that, we’re also cheering Elsie on for the Australian Schools Cross Country Championships in Yarra Glen the week after. Competing at both of these representative events is an amazing achievement, and we know she will give it her all.

Good luck, Elsie! Enjoy every moment of your time away, and know that your school community is behind you every step of the way.

Year 6 Celebrates NAIDOC Week at St Christopher’s Cathedral

Last Friday, our Year 6 students had the honour of attending a special NAIDOC Week Mass at St Christopher's Cathedral. Joined by school leaders and Aboriginal students from across the Archdiocese, it was a great opportunity to reflect on the rich cultures and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

The Mass provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to embrace the spirit of NAIDOC Week and deepen their understanding of reconciliation and cultural respect.
